The village of Rampur decided to stop using plastic bags. Students of Standard 8 made posters: “Recycle. Reuse. Reduce.” They spoke to shopkeepers and gave cloth bags to families. After two months the river bank looked cleaner. Fishermen said they found less plastic in their nets. The sarpanch praised the students. “If young people lead, the village will follow,” she said.
